Hi Patrick,

I am now using Adode Acrobat 6.0 Professional to convert MS word, excel files
to PDF from MS Office. Can I easily convert files with Openoffice as well.

Absolutely! Just open the OpenOffice.org document, choose File > Export as PDF, and enter the information you're prompted for. If you don't care about the specific PDF settings, you can click the PDF icon on the main toolbar at the top for a quicker approach.

Any links in the OpenOffice.org document are retained in the resulting PDF.

I have a blog entry on PDFs, links, etc.
http://openoffice.blogs.com/openoffice/2006/01/if_youre_not_us.html

You can also use the Web wizard to convert multiple documents at once to PDF. Just
choose File > Wizard > Web, select the OpenOffice.org documents to convert,
and for each, select PDF in the dropdown list of the wizard. Ignore the settings for
the index.html file layout if you don't care about those, and just convert.

HTH,

Solveig
