In my experience I've always uninstalled the old version prior to
installing a new version. When I've installed the new verison I've
always done this into a new directory (ie, I've not used existing
folders for the install).
Just for general knowledge, Windows' uninstall does not remove all traces of
v1.1.0 as can be seen by trolling through the registry.
I have no idea if these detritus have any effect on later versions of OOo.
