You may have to tell us some more of exactly what you *are* doing. OOo certainly works with Windows XP, and in fact all (or at least, most) previous versions of Windows. So there is no problem with the download description being simply "Windows". But tell us the exact name of the file you downloaded, what you did with it after that, and the exact error message that appeared. -- Bob Long P.S.
