This can be done. If you are going to use different master slides in the
same presentation, how you chose the master slide for each slide is slightly
different. Normally to select a master slide, you left click your choice and
then make any changes in it using View > Master > Slide Master. Use View >
Normal to protect the master slide from further changes.
If you want to use multiple master slides, select the slide and then
RIGHT CLICK your master slide choice. From the context menu, select Apply to
selected slides. Make the changes in this master slide you desire. Use View >
Normal to protect the master slide.
