Hi thanks for the response in order to save in Powerpoint format you must have powerpoint in your system correct? I figured out how to save as a PDF file at least so I am pretty sure the judge I gave this to on Thursday should be able to open it. thanks
 
 
 
You can also save it in Powerpoint format "File" -> "Save as" -> "File type".

No it is not necessary as the newer version is backward compatible.
