If you want a replacement for Outlook Express, have a look at Mozilla Thunderbird. This has nothing to do with Sun or OpenOffice.org though. If this is not what you meant, please be more clear about what you mean with this phrase.
Thunderbird has a few advantages over OE. It will detect spam messages for you and it's far less vulnerable to viruses et al.
