They may be, but some flaws could exist in both, for instance, some rather large security holes exist in Mozilla and Firefox that use3d to exist in IE, but most were weeded out. Also, Outlook and Thunderbird. Also, we have had to say this many times on this list, OOo is not an OS, so I am assuming the programmers use some built in M$ functions, I was wondering if this could be one of them, or if it is one that is built into Excel only, or if there is an equivalent, or if it is a VBA thing (although the fact it doesn't affect the rest of M$O makes me think it isn't). I'd rather be paranoid about computer security than have my system compromised.

And on a different note, you have always said not to insult the OP, take your own advice. I'll just assume your having a rough day, or hadn't had your coffee yet, to give you the benefit of the doubt.

I am sure this will cause a slew of various anti-MS comments, and for that I apologize. I am also not sure if this is the correct list for this question but, does the new Excel vulnerability affect Calc as well? I couldn't find any real details on it, but it looks like it can cause a problem with memory handling (maybe?) specifically, msvcrt.memmove(). Anybody have thoughts on this, might this be a potential OOo issue?

I assume you are referring to

knowledge no. But why would you ask as OOo is as different from MSO as
night is from day?
