I currently use openoffice 2.0, and it runs very good.
I frequently need to convert images (jpg or tiff) in text documents, so
i am searching for an ocr software, obviously free.
I had textbridge but it does not gives good results unless the image
contains only big characters.
Can you suggest me a OCR software well running with openoffice,
according to your experience?

I'm assuming that you are using Windows? A quick google hunt using
OCR windows "open source"
gave me the following:

I haven't tried them though.
