Hi There,

Thank you for your response. However, I still encounter a problem. I zip the files into my Openoffice folder as advised and run the setup program. It still indicates that I have a missing application Openofficeorg20.msi and the program could not proceed. The error code generated is Error 1714. As I have indicated to you earlier that I have deleted all the original Openoffice files and that when I started to get the problem. I have deleted the files because I could not uninstall the earlier version using the install and remove program in the control panel of Window XP. Is there any way for me to get the msi file to enable the installation of the latest version of Openoffice?

Hi Peng,
My guess would be that you are trying to install from a download that hasn't been unpacked. Windows XP will allow you to browse through a zipped file as if it was a folder. Back out of the folder, right click and extract the contents. Run setup.exe that you'll find in the extracted folder.

Hi There,

I have previously installed openoffice ver 2.0 in my PC. I have tried to install the latest version 2.0.2 but have encountered a problem. The application software indicates that it cannot find the file openofficeorg20.msi. So, I have delete all openoffice files in my PC and in the registry and tried to reinstall the new version. But it still failed. The error code generated is Error 1714. I am operating on Window XP plateform. Would appreciate your assistance to rectify the problem. Thank you.
