Do you use a page style for just left (or right) side pages?

From my viewpoint, the 1,3,5,7,.... numbering would come from using
the "Left Page" page style. The even numbers would come from using the
"Right Page" page style.
First suggestion: Download the Getting Started Guide from
http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/index.html. It is in PDF
format. There is a chapter in this Guide which explains styles and how to
use them. It should have an answer that will solve you problem.
