Is that this program: http://www.ability.com/sales/products/write.php?ln=us ? If so, it indicates that it can save in Microsoft .doc files. So use Ability to export as .doc files, then open the .doc files in OOo. However, you say you have "Open Office 4.8", but there is no such version. 2.0.2 is the latest.
