Then it seems that something has gone wrong with either your Windows or Office installation, and that should be fixed before trying to install more software. This may be of help: http://www.mcse.ms/message436198.html. Implies it may be because of how Office updates are performed. If that is the case, and you can't fix it, then OOo will be able to read the PowerPoint files. Microsoft also have a free downloadable PPT file viewer. -- Bob Long P.S.
