I have a colleague unable to open file.ods that was last opened a few
days.
A filter window came up, which I answered "opendocument spreadsheet" and
it gave me a message box of "general error Input/Output error. .
When I type $file SALARIES.ods : Microsoft Word Document, while the others of
the same type (.ods) are described as a
zip compressed file. The others (ods.files) open ok.
I have tried running unzip -l SALARIES.ods No joy and I was unable to open
using MS Excel and Word.
Message:
unzip -l SALARIES.ods
Archive: SALARIES.ods
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of SALARIES.ods or
SALARIES.ods.zip, and cannot find SALARIES.ods.ZIP, period
Any suggestions as this is a very important file.
