Really? In my experience, I don't agree. But again, I am not an
expert on creating and using styles on hodgepodge documents.
Maybe I should work for the company you do, since you don't know
how to do your job. [All of the scenrios you have described are
trivial to solve. ]
I am not a writer. I am a technician that has to do writing as part
of my job. The one reason I don't have 30+ hours to sit down to learn
styles. I don't have enough time to sit down to learn and do the
programming I have to do. Heck I took a course in December for a
project that I hope to get onto by April. I will have forgotten most
of the course by then.
I very rarely create documents from the start. I normally given a
document that I have to add in details. I then have to ensure that
all the previous formatting isn't changed and my inserted formatting
is as close to that of the supplied document.
And if the style is used but then a bunch of direct formatting is
applied, then what a pain as in one document I just looked at.
">Formt >Default" and repeat for character, numbering, and
paragrpah level.
But this removes all the formatting that I will have to remember and
recreate. Not an option to remove it in most cases.
<SNIP>
">Format >Default" to get rid of that direct markup [And you were
wondering why I suggested importing a documetn as plain text, and
getting rid of all of the markup.]
I don't have that option in most cases as I have to keep the
formatting that was given to me. I wish I had the option.
