Hi Heath,

Unfortunately there are no filters available to allow you to open Works
documents with OO. 

There are two options:

1. Use Works to save your documents in a more common format such as
Rich Text Format (rtf) for text docucments.

2. If this is not possible, I'm pretty sure that Microsoft have tools
to do this, without using works, and if not there would be other free
downloadable tools to do this. Do a Google search for something like
"convert works rtf" or "convert works doc"
