Hello: I have recently installed open office 2.0.2 and found that I was unable to implement the spellcheck or thesaurus function. When the icon is activated to check a word it simply comes up and the dialog box says "Spellcheck Complete". All boxes in the dialog box show up as empty. Following the Tools>Options>WritersAids settings makes no difference. As well all the required dictionaries are installed. It works fine in scalc.
In addition I have not been able to change the default date format from say 4/2/06 to April 2, 2006. I have however written a macro that will do so but as far as I can tell that should not have been necessary. MS Office allows you to select the default format from a relatively lengthy list of options. If you have any ideas on how to fix these issues I would certainly appreciate it.
