Hello,
I got two images, both are the size of a full page in openoffice writer.
I want the first image to be the background in the first page and the
second to be the background in all following pages.
You have to use page-styles.
- Open the Stylist with F11,
- Select page-styles (fourth button top left)
- Double click on First page.
Now that page style is applied to the first page of your document.
You can set the background.
- Select the style name;
- Rightclick and choose Change
- Go to tab Background and play aroud ...
The next pages, depend on a property of the first page style
- In the window to change First page-styl, go to the first tab.
- There you see that the next page style is Default.
So if you change the page style Default, the other pages can be changed.
Of course you can set other page-styles, for example to make left and
right pages follow up.
Furthermore, the
images are created without margin, for the text I (of course) do want
some margins.
Hmm, not sure if that works with the images.
Anyway you need the info about page styles in the following solution.
- In the page styles, turn on headers.
- with the cursor in a header, click Insert|Frame ...
- tab 'Omloop' choose 'Doorloop', select at the Background;
- tab Background, select the image, and choose Area.
- you can also set transparency there ;-)
Now click OK.
You can enlange the frame with the mouse.
For a result, see:

Do the same for the other page.
Getting the cursor in the text is a bit special, but you will get used
to it.

& vr. groet,
Cor
Any ideas on how I can accomplish this with openoffice wrtier?
Thanks,
Ron
PS. Could you please cc me in any response as I'm not on the list.
