I would re install, and put the application in the Applications folder this time -- if you want a shortcut on your desktop, make an alias -- or better yet drag the application to the dock. As a rule of thumb, Mac applications will try to install themselves in the Applications folder -- and it seems like a pretty good place for them, you know where they are, the system and any other applications will find them where they expect them and you won't throw them away when cleaning up the inevitable collection of "stuff" that appears on your desktop

Thanks

My installation of OO on this new iMac Intel has disappeared. It's not in Applications, Documents or anywhere that I know how to search.

When I installed it, did it place an icon on the desktop, which when deleted also deleted the program?

I have two OO documents on the desktop, both .stw file extensions, and Quicktime is trying to open them.

Hmmmmm......
