Spadmin will not do the job.

First, it sees only "Generic Printer," which was installed by Ubuntu as a
default. It does not see my Laserjets.

But, assuming I could figure out how to get past that problem, it cannot see
any of the OpenType fonts. I browse to the folder(s) where they are located and
it shows no fonts in the folder(s) at all. It just plain does not see them.
(They are in /usr/share/fonts/Type1/OpenType and repeated in /home/jjj/.fonts.)
Evidently spadmin was created before OpenType became the norm for fonts, and
has not been updated since.

So thanks for the suggestion, but I need something else.
