     It would be easier if it were possible. My version of OOo (Linux 
2.0.2) does not have that option when linking two spreadsheets as the OP 
mentioned. The Tools menu does not contain an Update listing. Furthermore, 
Edit > Links lists all links as manual updates with no way to change them 
to automatic.
