Registration of your copy of OOo 2.0 is not required nor necessary. I
have had OOo on a Win 98 SE partition of my laptop since version 1.0.3
without registering it.
If you desire, you can register at www.openoffice.org. This is a one
time thing to do. But you are registering yourself rather than your OOo
software. When you register, you will be given a user name and password
and asked some questions in a survey concerning your use of OOo. All your
registration does is to permit you to file requests for making changes in
future versions of OOo.
