Hi. I went to issuezilla to see about requesting a change to how
Tools->Options->Paths (Templates) works and found out that they are
removing a bunch of options including the one I wanted to change!

I want continued access to the templates and user defined dictionary
paths.
I do not want to have to edit java files, etc. to do this.
I could not immediately see how to comment on this to the developers
because it's not an issue.
The search results that turned up this item did not have any
provision for adding a comment.
If possible, I don't want to join another mailing list. This one is
hard enough to keep up with.
I hope some of you will take a look at this and comment on it. I see
Cor Nouws, a frequent poster to this list, has already done so.
in the OOoPaths.odt document you can see that this feature is based on
an internal Sun issue. This is because the Sun crash reporter
automatically generated the issue. We should have copied the issue to
IssueZilla to make it public, but there were some software problems
which prevented this at first place, and later on we forgot.
But on the specs.announce mailing list you can see the complete copy
inside an e-mail, in
http://specs.openoffice.org/servlets/SearchList?list=announce&searchText=paths&defaultField=subject&Search=Search
The official way to comment on this feature is to submit an IssueZilla
feature request with something like "I want the paths back in
Tools-Options-OOo-Paths". Then other users can comment and vote.
As I understand this feature, developers decided to initially remove
all paths from that dialog that are not safe to be changed by users,
in some ways. A reasonable approach; developers had to take action to
avoid more crash reports on this, even when it was the user who did
change some settings.
Of course, after some necessary code changes, the paths can be
inserted again. This depends on the amount of work to make it work,
and that may vary depending on the specific path entry.
Regards
Uwe
I have opened an issue on this. Votes requested.

I'm new at this, where is that indicated?
