So either "NFS > shares" doesn't mean what I think it means, or the claim "OpenOffice > does not work with files on NFS shares" is a little strong?
That's exactly what I was trying to convey. I'm in the same situation under SuSE. Absolutely rock solid nfs. To change filesystems to solve a problem with nfs seems silly. I think the whole thread is one of misunderstanding and lack of information. I *know* nfs works both for mounting the program and running on the clients *and* simply for sharing files. I'd really like to help but without the necesary information I just can't.
