If you don't have an icon on the desktop, and you are on Linux, it may
be that your Linux distribution places OOO in the main menu only. For
example, in Linspire (Debian), OOO is placed not on the desktop by
default but in Launch/Run Programs/Business & Finance, where there is an
icon for each component: word processor, spreadsheet, etc.. You can
create a link to these programs on your desktop.
