     After reading Laurent Duperval's email about this subject, I did a 
little more research. I also have a laptop with a Win 98SE partition with 
OOo 2.0.2 on it. When I created a new text document the same way: created 
8 short lines and applied the same headings as above.
     The first heading 2 has a number 1 in front of it, but so did the 
second heading 2. Not only that, but there was a difference in indentation 
between the two. The first  one was not indented, and the second one was. 
When I modified the "Numbering 1" style in the List category, I was able 
to remove the indentation of the second heading 2 line.
     Someone should file an issue about this.
