Yes it is a known issue, which is not so much a bug, more by way of a
missing feature. The current version of Impress does not play audio
throughout the entire slide show. Currently, audio can only be attached
to individual slides, in your case the first slide. It is anticipated
that this will be changed in a future version, hopefully 2.0.3
