I'm running both 1.1.5 and 2.0.2 under Mandrake Linux 9.1.
For 1.1.5, I (think I) did a network install and then a user install under the user bigbird.

Everything was fine until I upgraded from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2.

Now 2.0.2 works fine, but I have problems starting 1.1.5.

I have a (kde 3.1) desktop icon for OOo writer that is set to execute /home/bigbird/OpenOffice.org1.1.5/soffice (which was a symlink into /opt/OpenOffice1.1.5/program/soffice and now is a symlink to ./program/soffice).

Now, my desktop icon runs and exits. Running from the file itself in a terminal does the same with no error messages.

The startup runs .../soffice -writer -nologo .

If I eliminate the two flags, it will start OOo with no file open.

I didn't change anything.

Since then, I ran setup repair and then uninstalled 1.1.5 and reinstalled (with replace never) and still have the same problem. now it wants my root password to run or when I tell it to ignore the password, it runs with no file open.

What's going on?

Joe
