thanks for the suggestion. Also, in case anyone would like to know, shortly after I submitted this question, Writer automatically notified me that it was turning on its AutoCorrect mode, I guess it was tired of my mistakes. Anyway, after AutoCorrect turned on NatSpeak's correction screens worked.

To Karl: Why not contact Mr. Orcutt, the author of Knowbrainer, a companion program to DNS? His add-on should help you tremendously, plus he has a "phorum" as he calls it, to assist others in the use of the programs. :-)

I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking 8 to write. I have found that it rights okay in OpenOffice but it won't correct. The "spell that" and "correct that" commands are answered with an error statement "you must first select or dictate some text ". I most certainly have done that but it isn't recognized. Is there a patch or another command that works?

Actually I would be interested in knowing about anyone who does use NatSpeak in OpenOffice as our network administrator would like me to switch from WordPerfect to OpenOffice on a regular basis.

Hope I hear from someone.
