Hello,

Further to my earlier mails on this problem, none of the solutions seem to work.

I have a stand alone computer with Windows XP (SP2). Using OOo 1.1.1. I have
1MB of RAM, and there has been no system failures.

I found the "GetStorage" FAQ page. It suggested renaming Common.xcu, and then
restarting OpenOffice. In the "GetStorage" mail archives, I noted that another
solution was offered - just delete Common.xcu, and re-start OpenOffice, and it
would create what it needed. Both seemed simple. Neither has worked.

Whether I use the "rename" or "delete" options for Common.xcu, after
re-starting, there is no error message. However, all I get is either a normal
desktop, or a dialogue box headed "FilterSelection" with either
"private:swriter or "private:scalc" underneath, followed by a list of programs
within the box. Neither choosing one, or ignoring the whole box, leads
anywhere in terms of loading the program.

I searched "Filter Selection" in the archives, and there has been some
discussion on this topic - but mainly related to individual files, rather than
launching OOo itself.

Now I think I really do need help. Any suggestions? In the meantime, I will
keep trying and searching.

Thanks and Regards
Anthony Poljak
