Page numbering is always on. I think you mean how to display the page
number. Most times, this is desired in the header or footer.
Insert->Header or Footer, then you can do Insert->Fields->Page Number to
have the number show up in the header or footer.
To change which page the numbering starts on, you need to look into
using page styles, etc. There is much more detailed information in the
users guide.
