First, I'll tell you what I'm trying to do, second, I'll tell you how I'm presently trying to do it.
I've got a database that essentially mimics our old card file system (yes, that's a cabinet filled with actual paper cards). Though I intend, in the long run, to have this system replace the card system entirely for searching for our documents, in the meantime, I need to be able to print cards from the database. The format of the cards is street address, city, and customer name aligned along the left, and then report number and date aligned along the right. Obviously, I need a way to have a single line with one piece on the left (the address) and the other aligned along the right (the report number) regardless of how long or short the address is. I have tried making labels with columns in them. I fiddled around with the layout of the data and some columns in the top-left label, until I had something that looked right. Unfortunately, that top-left label seems to be the *only* place I can even access column options--in all the other fields, the option is grayed out. There doesn't seem to be any way (that I can see) to carry the column design into the other cells. How can I do this? -- - Daryl Sawyer Better Pest Control 4920 E.
