In the Find and Replace dialog

  1. Click More Options
  2. Check Regular expressions.
  3. Search for $ to merge paragraphs
  4. Replace as desired (with space, hyphen,etc.)
5. To replace hard line returns (obtained using Shift Enter) with paragraph returns (Enter) search for \n and replace with \n'
