No, there is no precompiled OOo without java for my system. My system
was entirely compiled here from source.
So you compiled your own O/S... In that case, all bets are off for most
anything. In general, however, I would have anticipated that while
building your system you could have also built a Java version that was
configured to use your system. Regardless, if you want to build OOo, I
recommend that you post on the dev list. At least the people there might
be able to discuss how to build OOo.
About the most that I typically do is to build components that configure
themself and then compile and install correctly.
If you are unable to properly build and run Java, off hand, I would say
that is probably your problem and the problem of whomever created the
build. Which Java are you able to build yourself? (I am thinking
blackdown perhaps). I have never done this, but I have had problems with
non SUN versions because they were not stable with OOo. Does SUN provide
a version that you can build? My expectation is that my level of
experience would offer no help at all to a person that practices the
"black art" of building their own kernel. If anything, I should sit at
your feet and beg for scraps of knowledge when I attempt to configure my
own system. :-)
Do you know about the dev mailing list?
They should be able to comment on what is, or is not, required to build OOo.
I have never done this, but I understand that it is quite the endevor; I
would guess at leat a ten hour build time but I could be completely wrong.
