Good evening:

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but I am needing
assistance in locating a template to build a database for my upstart
business.

Basically, I need it to maintain my clients (general information such as
name, address, etc), services (custom invoice number, date, parts installed,
etc) and allow me to generate an invoice based on the information entered in
this file. An option to enter notes as to the services that were performed
would be quite helpful as well. The database also needs to keep track of
inventory/parts and the cost.

Finally, I need this database to allow me to create reports to generate
financial figures: parts, labor, and taxes collected.

I have found the Service Call Manager template in Access to be quite helpful
in accomplishing these tasks. However, I have recently switched to Linux
and refuse to use any Microsoft products.

A while back, someone kindly emailed documentation on how to create this
particular database. Unfortunately, this was lost during the transition to
FC5.

Does someone know of a template available that would allow me to do this, or
have similar instructions or hints as to how to create this? I'm certainly
not experienced in the Database world and simply need something that works.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.
