Adrian: I had found this feature already, the problem is that it makes the
text fit to the frame both horizontally and vertically.
This implies that the fonts are deformed for this purpose and that text
that used to fit over several lines is squished onto a single line.
Collaterally, bullets seem to go all over the place (text is written over
the bullet).

Hi Mel, thanks for your reply.

I haven't really looked much of this issue before, and I'm not aware of any better way.

You can deal with the difficulties you mentioned to some extent by doing this:

1. Type the text on the slide without changing any settings.

2. When finished, change the Text settings to Fit to frame as discussed in the previous email.

3. Adjust the height of the frame by dragging the bottom handle until the text looks correctly proportioned.

Unfortunately this isn't as elegant or automatic as it could be. I'm not sure if it's a solution you're willing to live with. It sounds like it's a feature that is important to you, and you're not willing to compromise on too much.

Best of luck in your ongoing migration to OpenOffice.org.

Adrian
