i have now installed OOo_2.0.2rc4.20060408_MacOSXIntel_en-GB.dmg. the copy
and paste now works but all formatting is lost when pasting...so it isn't
much better.
closer though...

a new thing: how do i respond directly to your message? i had to cut and
paste all of this in to a new email because i couldn't figure it out.

There is newer versions of OOo available for OSX from :
ftp://ooopackages.good-day.net/pub/OpenOffice.org/MacOSX/2.0.2rc4
Can you please try this and see if the problem persists ?
