Hello!

I'm user of staroffice and then openoffice.org from middle of middle of 90ths and I don't like suggestion, that new ooo users looks for outlook alternative. I felt vary comfortable with staroffice 5 integrated PIM and I don't uderstand why it was removed from application together with batadase application, which now comes back. I don't understand also suggestion that integrated e-mail client will be new target for worms and viruses. Why then people still uses Evolution under linux. Actually there no alternatives for outlook under windows now. Those opensource clients, which are available, usually consumes anourmous amount of memory, like Thunderbird and Calendar. Writing an event in these applications takes much more time than in Outlook or Evolution. Web based applications isn't vary useful, because at least here, we have lot of problems with network quality and speed.

I'm waiting for some kind of windows release of Evolution to look at it in work. Until now I didn 't see any better choices.

What is stopping you from using Outook as your email client with OpenOffice.org? OOo will work with Outlook just as well as it will Mozilla. If you want a spellchecker other than MS Word, those are also available on the internet for a small fee or for free. Just remember that Outlook's close association with the Windows O/S means that you have to continue to be very vigilant about email viruses and trojan horses.

And there are alternatives enough:
