OpenOffice.org is free software. It is freely available. If you want to
pay for the ongoing development you can, of course:

It would be far better to relate your experience to the people around
you so more and more people start using the software. If you create
something like macros or templates share them with the community. It's a
payback that doesn't take much of your time, but which greatly enhances
the product.
