Hi Lee On all my Mandriva installs, having done the root installation, I could just run soffice as a user and then set up my details, default template, etc. You should not need to change any permissions, just run it as a user. I have seen some comments about auto-save problems if you don't at least put a name in when it goes through after the licensing page. Generally there has also been an item on the K-menu (if you use KDE). Perhaps you need to run update-menus to attach it to the menu?
