Hi again ... here's what I have
I have access to 2 of the three machines in question. One that is
working perfectly is at work ... so I can not get that info now.
Machine 1 is a Gateway laptop running OO perfectly... it has WinXP Home,
OO 2.0.2 and JRE 1.5.0_06
Machine 2 is the one I am on now ... same set up .. but a desktop unit
again with WinXP Home, OO version 2.0.2 and JRE 1.5.0_06. Everything
except Writer loads (maybe a bit more slowly than the laptop) and seems
to be OK. Writer will load the title bar and maybe a ruler and then
stop loading. Most times I need to re-boot at that point.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA
Mike

Well I am not sure... I do know that the problem machine has the newest
release with JRE,,,,
Is there a way to tell which JRE version I have ?
TIA

Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Java This will tell you what JRE
you have installed and where. If you have more than one version of JRE it
will list all of them and have a filled in radio button for the one OOo is
using.
One other thing that is not clear to me. You mention that you have
installed OOo on three machines. Did you burn OOo on a CD and then use it
to install on all three machines, or did you do it another way? If so,
what did you do? Also, how much RAM do you have on all three machines?

Hi all,
I have two installs of Open Office working very well ... but this
third one is driving me nuts. Everything except Writer seems to run
perfectly. Writer will try to open, I will get the OpenOffice.org
title bar across the top of my screen ... and sometimes I even get
one ruler! After that appears OO hangs ... sometimes I need to
reboot, sometimes I can shut the application. There are no error
messages. Any ideas?
A wild guess: is the JRE the same on all systems?
