Is there a fix due shortly?
Consider for a moment what the "virus" does. The "virus" downloads a
graphics image from a web site and displays the image in a Write
document. Which functionality would you like to have removed from OOo?
Should the ability of OOo to access the internet be removed? The
capability is useful to do things such as obtain graphics from a web
page and display them in a Write document. Oh wait, that is exactly what
the virus does. Hmm, how about a macro that obtains stock quotes from
the internet?
The important thing is that you, as a user, should not run a macro from
an unknown source, just as you should not run programs from an unknown
source, yet your email software probably still allows you to receive
executable programs as attachements.
