One of the reasons that the documentation project
(http://documentation.openoffice.org ) and OOoAuthors exist.

As to Help, I have been using Help from StarOffice4 days and yes it can
be a bit strange. However, I have found that a little common sense adn a
willingness to try variation of search terms more often than not reveals
the information needed.

The doc project and the Help team need people for documentation
creation, editing and revision of existing stuff to keep it up-to-date.
For example,
http://documentation.openoffice.org/HOW_TO/various_topics/AndrewMacro.odt is
often dated.
