Basically, I have created two identical workbooks.  One of those workbooks
contain formulas.  The formulas are for when you use the one book and input
data, it will automatically input that data to the second workbook as you
are inputting.  Since I have tried openoffice, my formulas are now wrong and
I tried fixing them but it won't let me.
Example...=(workbookname & cell to which I want copied)
I hope this helps a little more.

Are you talking about OOo being different than MSO? I suspect yes. This
is true the two suites are different and as MSO formats are foreign and
proprietary, they do not always import 100% into OOo.

If your Excel sheets use macros,
