Hi Carla,
If anything happens when you double-click, the file association is
there. What's happening, is the full pathname is not being passed.
Windows in truncating the name at the first space. The quick, dangerous
fix is to use regedit to add double quotes around the filename place
holder (usually %1) in the registry entry for xls files. It may be safer
to use shift-right click on a file and select 'open with', choose
'openoffice.org' and check the 'always open with' box.

I have two computers that still have Win98 and we are running Open
Office 2.0 -
If I open Open Office and then select the .xls file I want to open it
opens great - but if
I just double click the .xls file I get an error -
red circle white x C:|My does not exist
I say okay and I get another error
C:\My Documents|Documents\filename does not exist.
The path is correct to my file.
Any help would be appreciated
You need to change the file associations on your system.
