Hello, You are right. Somebody pointed out to me that this a Debian-specific issue. Apparently the security upgrade for libfreetype6 broke something: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=372719 Downgading libfreetype6 fixed the problem for me.
