Hi Roderick

I just typed up 'User Guide' in Google and, after seeing the date on the
cover of the User Guide as well as the index which stopped at 'D', I
believed I had landed on an old website/reference. I thought I had better
inquire before continuing with what I thought was an outdated text.

As I'm an absolute beginner with OO at present, I don't know what I could
contribute. I'm OK with basic MSWord stuff, but like most people I'm sure
that I don't use (or even need) 50% of what's in it.

I write English-language testing material for schools and I have always felt
that what teachers and instructors need for this is software that dilutes
the word processing a little but adds some DTP stuff. InDesign, Pagemaker,
Framemaker and such are OK but too much. A sort of beefed up MSPublisher, I
suppose. Perhaps we'll see an OpenOffice.org Pub one day.

Best regards

Yes that is on the cover. What does it say on the website and on the
seciton titled "Modifications and updates" which is the second page
after the title page. Mine copy reads:

So I do not understand your question at all. Remember the User Guide
when complete will be printed and so has the structure of a book.
Unfortunately there haven't been enough resources to keep pace with the
changes. We are working on it. If you would like to contribute, register
with OOo and join the documentation project there is much to do.

If you haven't already registered, do the following:

    1. To file an issue you must register with OOo by clicking the
