Are you going to open your table every time you want to enter data?
Or, are you going to enter your data using a form?
If you are going to use a form, you can easily change the order of the
fields in the form to what you want. You can change the tab order as
wells. So not only will "field3" lay between "field1" and "field2", the
cursor will move from "field1" to "field3" to "field2". (This is be true
after you make the changes in the form.)
May I add that most people use a form to add data to a database
eventhough it is possible to do so in the table itself.
If you need additional information, please go to
http://documentation.openoffice.org. The manuals are especially important
including the Getting Started Guide. (It has a chapter on setting up a
database using OOo 2.0.x.)
