Is there such a thing as multi-item clipboard in OOo?
No, not inside OpenOffice.org.

But I feel that a multi-item clipboard is something that should be
handled outside of OOo anyway, so that it is available for all programs.

My favourite clipboard extender for Windows is Yankee Clipper. You
can find out about it at
http://www.intelexual.com/products/YC3/

I believe that Clipomatic is also a good program. You can read about
it at
http://www.mlin.net/Clipomatic.shtml

Both of these programs are free of cost. There are other options,
too, including some commercial programs.

Hope this helps!

I use Cliptomatic on Windows and I find it's great. I'm duel booting to
Suse 10.1; is there anything equivalent that can be recommended for Linux?

I don't know quite what you mean, but Suse comes with Klipper automatically configured on KDE, which keeps a history of recent clips and keyboard shortcuts to select the one you want to paste in.

Oh, thanks. I haven't tried klipper (I saw that it was there, though) and didn't realise that it could do that. Learning lots of things slowly!
