I would recommend that you update for the reasons given under
"OpenOffice.org 2.0.3: Open For Business" on http://www.openoffice.org/

What refuses to work? If you can explain in more detail maybe we can
help you with a solution. FWIW I have no difficulty sending faxes from
OOo 2.0.3 through Winfax on Win XP.

Not sure what you are saying here. Which language(s) spell checking do
you expect to be "built-in"? If you take the time to learn how to
correctly install and configure the dictionaries (maybe also language
packs) you require, then OOo 2.0.3 spell checking works fine.
