I've had problems with Suse here as well. It seems they have changed OOo for 
their standard package. I found the best way to get round it is to remove all 
OOo packages from your system (using Yast), and then install a downloaded 
version from the OOo site. I've had no trouble since, and now I always do 
that for each new version of Suse.
